LaVada Cronin

B. LaVada Cronin, 87, passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at her home in Tell City, Indiana.

She was born on January 2, 1939, at her family home in Gatchel, Indiana, to Lloyd and Lillian (Lawalin) Terry.

LaVada was united in marriage to Robert E. Cronin on February 23, 1957. They shared 48 wonderful years together until his passing in 2005. She retired from General Electric after many dedicated years of service.

LaVada enjoyed gardening, especially tending to her roses and bushes. She loved spending time in her yard caring for her plants. A simple woman at heart, she found her greatest joy in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her three daughters, Robin Scott, Pam (Steve) Austin, and Tracy (Bear) Hubert all of Tell City; her son, Gary (Danielle) Cronin of Athens, Alabama; eight grandchildren, Seth Scott, Emily Oliver, Cassey “C.J.” Baker, Megan Stevenson, Amber Bailey, Brayden Cronin, Makenna Cronin, and Brennah Cronin; and ten great-grandchildren, Oaklynn, Waylon, Addy, Emberlynn, Ryleigh, Ben, Preston, Parker, Austyn, and Olivia.

In addition to her parents and husband, LaVada was preceded in death by her siblings, Betty Cronin, Jack Terry III, Carolyn Purtzer, Marshall “Doc” Terry, Alice Moesner, and Bob Terry.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Lilly Dale Cemetery in Gatchel.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 16, 2026, and from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Rivers Edge Animal Shelter.
