Laura "Irene" Thresher

Laura L. “Irene” Thresher, 92, passed away on November 15, 2023, at Perry County Memorial Hospital. Born April 10, 1931, in Cloverport, KY, she was the daughter of the late Jess and Elizabeth (McManaway) Sanders.

She married Russell Thresher on July 6, 1951, and they shared 58 years together before his passing in 2010. Irene retired from the Coca-Cola Bottling Company in Indianapolis. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary. Irene enjoyed spending time with her family and playing bingo.

Survivors include her son-in-law, Donnie Holler; grandchildren, Jeff (Lisa) Llewellyn of Greenfield and LaDonna Llewellyn of Tell City; great grandchildren, Casey (Kaylie) Llewellyn and Castle (Alexsia) Llewellyn; great great grandchild, Naomi, Samson, Sloane.
 

In addition to her parents, Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Thresher; her daughter, Mary Holler; sisters, Emely May Carroll and Dorothy Roberts; brothers, James Sanders and Leslie Sanders.
 

Graveside services will be at 1:00pm on Monday, November 20, 2023, at Greenwood Cemetery.
