Lavern B. Johnson, 88, passed away Saturday, August 8, 2020 with her daughters by her side.
Born February 12, 1932 in Tell City she was the daughter of the late William and Ruth (Cassidy) Boerste. She was united in marriage to the late James A. Johnson on November 5, 1953. Lavern retired from General Electric after 40 years of service and was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and cooking Sunday dinner for them every week for many years.
Survivors include her three daughters, Gwen (Butch) Young, Nancy (Douglas) James of Tell City and Beverly (Jeff) York of Troy; a sister Evelyn Berry and a brother, Ralph Boerste both of Tell City; grandchildren, Laura (Steven) Durcholz of Owensboro, KY, Clint Trinkel of Santa Rosa, CA, Patrick (Christa) Young, Adam (Stevi) Evrard and Darrin (Megan) James all of Tell City, IN; nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Tuesday August 11, 2020 at St. Paul Catholic Church with burial in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm Monday and from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm Tuesday at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church.
