Lella Jo Hammack

Lella Jo Hammack, 89, passed away on December 28, 2023, at Brickyard Health Campus in Tell City, IN.

She was born on March 3, 1934, in Eureka, IN, the daughter of William and Eva (Aldridge) Shearn. Lella was a 1952 Cannelton High School graduate. She was united in marriage to Dewey E. Hammack on December 17, 1955. They shared 56 wonderful years together before his passing in 2012.

Lella retired from Western Electric in Indianapolis, IN, after many years of service. She was a member of the Berean Baptist Church. Lella enjoyed making crafts like beaded necklaces and doing oil paintings.

Survivors include her stepdaughter, Karen Wicker and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Lella was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Hammack and her siblings, Tom Shearn, Archie Howard, Wanda Flamion, Parvin Shearn and Russell Shearn.

Services will be at 2pm Saturday, December 30, 2023, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Deer Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10am to 2pm on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at the funeral home with Bro Harry McDonald officiating.
