Leo A. Strobel, 88, passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at Oakwood Health Campus in Tell City. He was born on December 3, 1935, in Evanston, IN, to the late John and Anna (Phillips) Strobel.
Leo was united in marriage to Sharon J. Feix on September 21, 1963, and they shared 59 years together before her passing in 2023. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Herman Peters. Leo was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, the Operators Union, and the American Legion. He enjoyed antique tractors, working in the oil field, raising beagles, and traveling with his wife, Sharon.
Surviving are sons, Jeff (Crystal) Strobel of Evanston, and Jon (Rhonda) Strobel of Cannelton; 3 grandchildren, Cortni (Brandan) Cross, Kaitlyn Strobel, and Jillian Strobel; and 3 great-grandchildren, Deacon, Cohen, and Banks Cross.
In addition to his parents, Leo was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Strobel and siblings, Esther Lennon, Cleta Dauby, Irene Miller, Marietta Collins, and Urban Strobel.
Funeral Services will be held at 2pm on Friday, September 13, 2024, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home with Fr. Tony Hollowell officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9am until service time at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
