Leona May Brockman, 97, passed away at her son's home in Evansville, on Thursday, October 12, 2023.
She was born November 19, 1925, in Perry County, IN, daughter of the late William and Clara (Throop) Smith.
Leona was united in marriage to Joseph B. Brockman on April 13, 1944, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Tell City. Leona retired from Commercial Filters after 25 years of service. She enjoyed family camping trips, going for drives, reading, adult coloring books, traveling, playing card games and just being surrounded by her family who she loved deeply.
She is survived by her daughter, Deanna Alvey of Tell City; two sons, Randy Brockman (Lilly) of Evansville and Thomas Brockman (Terri) of Evanston; her sister, Mary Catherine Kipzlinger of Evansville; ten grandchildren, Brandi Posey, Kandi Alvey, Michael Houk, Ryan Brockman, Jason Brockman, Jarrod Brockman, Dana Lutgring, Jenny Scheessele, JoAnn Mitchell and Jackie Hunt; eighteen great grandchildren; and 9 great great grandchildren.
Leona was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her siblings, Earl Smith, Bob Smith, her twin Leoma Arnold, and John Smith.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, October 16, 2023, at St. Paul Catholic Church with burial in St. Mary Cemetery in Tell City. Fr. Tony Hollowell will officiate.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00pm on Sunday, October 15, 2023, and from 9:00 to 9:30am on Monday at the funeral home.
