Linda A (Foster) Lumpkins, 71, passed away May 20, 2021 at Hamilton Pointe Health and Rehab in Newburgh, IN.
Born June 22, 1949 in Tell City, she was the daughter of the late Cyril and Hettie P. (Bryant) Foster the youngest of seven children, four of which have preceded her in death.
Linda was a graduate of Tell City High School and was employed as a CNA and QMA caring for the elderly and also in group homes. She was a past member of First Baptist Church and later attended Gospel Tabernacle where she was involved with vacation bible school as a teacher and assisted in the kitchen during Victory Valley Church Camp. She was a member of the React and Family Readiness group (FRG).
Linda enjoyed spending time with family, laughing and always had a smile on her face. She was a loving and caring person, devoted mother and friend, always thinking of others first. To know her was to love her.
Linda leaves to cherish her loving memory her son Freddie and daughter-in-law Amy Lumpkins of Elberfeld, IN; a brother, Larry (Cindy) Foster of Tell City, IN; a sister, Helen (Don) Shaw of Tell City, IN and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents is a daughter Melynda Faye in infancy, a brother Robert, 3 sisters, Brenda, June, Sharon in infancy and two sisters-in-law, Hettie (Wolf) Foster and Eloise (Miller) Foster.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Monday, May 24, 2021at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home with Rev. Gail Russell officiating. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1:00pm to 4:00pm Sunday and 9:00am to service time Monday at the funeral home.
