Lorene Luellen (Huff) Henson passed away surrounded by her family and loved ones on September 3, 2024, in Bristow, where she wanted to be. She was 81 years old.
Lorene was born on the brisk 9th day of December in 1942. She was married to Kenneth “Kenny” Henson and together they had 7 children.
She worked many jobs raising the younger kids alone. Lorene was well known for her love of cooking, especially her biscuits and gravy. She made many personal items for her loved ones. In her golden years she enjoyed soap operas. Lorene raised flowers, loved quilting and crocheting, playing cards with her family, going fishing and arm wrestling of which she was known for winning against several “manly men”. Lorene wrote the Bristow News for the Perry County Newspaper and enjoyed shooting walnuts off the tree branches. Lorene will be dearly missed, and her family will be eager to be reunited with her again.
Surviving are her children, Edward Leon (Sharon) Henson of Titusville, FL, Jimmy (Kim) Henson of Tell City, Kenny Henson of Tell City, Tammy (Pat) Taylor of Lewisport, KY, Rich Henson of Jasper, and Tim (Amy) Henson of Bristow; grandchildren, Eddie, Sheena (Mike), Amber (Ben), Cain, Levi, Briar, Paige, Nick, Ryder, Adam, Amy, Isaac, Stacy, Amanda, Amy, and Angela; 13 great-grandchildren; and her beloved dog Precious.
