Lorna R. (Eger) Garrett

Lorna R. Garrett, 83, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2023, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, IN.

She was born June 18, 1939, in Tell City, Indiana the daughter of the late Charles and Laurena (Boerste) Eger. Lorna was a 1957 graduate of Tell City High School. She was married to Joseph Terrell Garrett on October 21, 1961, who precedes her in death on October 17, 2009.

She was a bookkeeper for a large part of her career and retired as the Manager of the Greenhouse. She had also worked at the prosecutor's office. Her passion was flowers, and she was just so very talented. Her stained-glass creations are still enjoyed by their owners. She enjoyed playing cards, and spending time with her family and friends.

Surviving her are her children, J. Scott (Gloria) Garrett of Winter Haven, FL, Toni (Jonathon) Dillon of Nancy, KY, Melayna (Tammy Peterson) Garrett of Cannelton, IN; grandchildren, Emily Smith, Theo Dillon- Welch, Zachary (Denisse) Garrett, Ethan (Lexy Turner) Garrett, and Branden Garrett; great-grandchildren Zayden Garrett, Isabella Garrett, and Harrison Smith.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her son, Stephen Garrett; siblings, Bernard Eger, Dolores Little, Rita Parker, Charlene Brumfield, Earl Eger, David Eger, and Lois Doogs.

Services will be 6:00pm Thursday, January 19, 2023, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home with Fr. Tony Hollowell officiating.

Visitation will be from 3:00pm until service time on Thursday at the funeral home.

Per Lorna's request everyone should dress in bright, cheerful clothing as this is a celebration of her life.
