Obituary

Lucille E. Simpson, 95, passed away on September 6, 2023, at Oakwood Health Campus.

 

She was born on December 30, 1927, the daughter of James and Lula Jarboe. She was united in marriage to Carroll L. Simpson on April 17, 1954, they shared 30 years together before his passing in 1984.

 

Lucille worked at General Electric and retired after 42 years of service. She loved going on vacations, but mostly Lucille enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren to whom she was known as Granny. She was a faithful member of the Tell City Church of Christ.

 

Survivors include her children, Judy Dartt and Lester Simpson both of Tell City; her sister, Wilma Splater of Tell City; grandchildren, Leon Dartt and Robin (Alex) Bratcher; and her great-grandchildren, Liam, Gannon, and Dakota (Jordan) Dartt.

 

Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; husband; siblings, Alberta Amos and Freida Brown; son-in-law, Dean Dartt; and great-great-grandchild, Jazmine Dartt.

 

Services will be held at 1pm on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home with Brother Harry McDonald officiating.

 

Visitation will be from am to 10am until service time on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at the funeral home with burial to follow in Lilly Dale Cemetery in Gatchel.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to Lilly Dale Cemetery Fund.
