Margie James Obituary

Margie A. James, 79, passed away Saturday April 30, 2022 at her home in Leopold.

Born March 1, 1943 in Tell City, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Edwin and Mabel (Cassidy) Hurm. She was a retired correctional sergeant for Branchville Correctional Facility where she worked for 21 years. She was a 1961 Graduate of Tell City High School. She married Charles A James November 21, 1975. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church. Margie enjoyed her grandkids, Indiana basketball, and St Louis Cardinals baseball. She also enjoyed making sequined calendars and did so for years for family and friends.

Survivors include her daughter, Dena Buchanan (Don) of New Orleans, LA, a son, Derek James (Tara) of Leopold , and her grandchildren Chase James of Princeton, IN, Carter, Caden, Lyla Mae, and Emmett Charles James and Cassidy and Conan Buchanan

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Charles A James of Leopold, and her brother Herbert William (Bill) Hurm of Tell City.

Funeral services will be held at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Leopold at 10:00 am Thursday, May 5

with Father Brian Esarey officiating.

Burial will be in St. Augustine Catholic Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9:00 until service time on Thursday, May 5 at the St. Augustine Catholic Church .

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Augustine Catholic Church.
