Marie Elizabeth Butler

Marie Elizabeth Butler, 74, of Tell City, IN passed away Monday December 7, 2020 at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, IN.

She was born in Tell City on April 2, 1946 the daughter of the late Clarence and Matilda (Knaeble) McFarling. She married Joseph E. Butler, Sr. on September 21, 1962 and was a member of the Tell City First Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed writing poetry, bowling and card games.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph Butler, Sr.; her children Mary Jo (Tim) Carter of Rockport, IN, Brenda Gayle (Matt) Terry of Owensboro, KY, Debbie Butler of Cecilia, KY, Joseph E. (Faith) Butler, Jr. of Owensboro, KY Ricky Allen Butler of Tell City, In; sisters, Nellie Sowards of Columbus, OH , Shirley Kiplinger of Tell City, IN; grandchildren, April (Jason) Noland, Erica (Donald) Gaither, Ashley Jones, Erick Jones, Tommy (Pamela) Terry, Cassi Terry, Dusty Terry, Derick (Dakota) Terry, Anna Kerns, JD Evrard, Marissa Butler, Kate Butler, Zachary Butler, Joey Butler and 28 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents,siblings, Joe McFarling, Eva Buford, Betty Dejarnett, Junior McFarling, Mike McFarling, Peggy Freeman and a great grandson, Liam Dugas.

Funeral services will be at 1:00pm Friday December 11, 2020 at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Areson officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9:00am to service time Friday at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home.
