Marilyn (Brinksneader) Lawson

Marilyn Lawson, 78, passed away on August 14, 2023, at Heartland Villa in Lewisport, KY. She was born in Perry County, IN, on November 29, 1944, the daughter of Henry and Nora (Little) Brinksneader. Marilyn was united in marriage to James “Bob” Lawson on October 5, 1974, and they shared 48 wonderful years together.

Marilyn worked at Tell City Chair for 15 years. She then was a stay-at-home mom for 10 years before returning to work at GE where she later retired after 15 years of service. She was a member of the VFW and the American Legion Women's Auxiliary. She enjoyed meeting up with her sister Shirley at Lawson's Bar, watching old westerns, and spending time with her family.

Marilyn is survived by her husband, Bob Lawson of Hawesville; children, Kenneth Wayne (Donna) Lawson of Davies Co. KY, Resa Lawson of Cincinnati, Jeff Lawson of Cannelton, Kimberly Reed (Larry) of Millstone, and Jim Bob (Renae) of Cannelton; a sister, Shirley Garrett of Tobinsport; sisters-in-law, Alvinia and Wanda Brinksneader; 20 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents; were her sisters, Virginia Ramsey and Ruby Jarboe; and her brothers, Marvin, Norman, Vernon and Ben Brinksneader.

Funeral services will be held at 10am on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2pm to 7pm on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, and from 9am until service time on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home.
