Obituary

Dennis “Mark” Gerlach, 67, of Tell City, passed away on June 8, 2022, at his home.

Mark was born in Tell City on October 8, 1954 to the late Paul and Amy (Claise) Gerlach. Mark was a 1972 Graduate of Tell City High School. He is retired from GE and Toyota. He was the past President of the Cannelton Jaycees and was the Mayor of Cannelton for 10 years. He also was a member of the Cannelton Fire Department for 25 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, who he loved deeply, watching sports and being outdoors.

Mark is survived by his children, Emily (Adam) Klein of Livingston TX, Maria (Mike) Shouse of Philpot, KY, Eli Gerlach of Owensboro, KY his brother Paul (Sharon) Gerlach of St. Meinrad, IN, his sister Vickie (Paul) Deom of St. Marks, IN and 8 grandchildren, Kaylee, Thea, Leonie, Zane, Sophie, Kadence, Kooper and Cora, along with many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mark was preceded in death by his brothers, Allen and Mike.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, June 11, 2022, at St. Michael's Catholic Church with Fr. Steve Donahue officiating. Burial will follow in Saint Mary's Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday, June 10 from 2:00pm to 7:00pm and Saturday from 8:30 to 9:15am at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home in Tell City.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cannelton Fire Department.
