Mary Aders Obituary

Mary Aders, 80, passed away on January 19, 2025, at her home in Troy, IN.

She was born in St. Louis, MO, on July 1, 1944, to the late Henry and Ada (Weil) Lippert.

 

Mary graduated from Tell City High School in 1962. She was united in marriage to Gordie Aders on October 1, 1966, and they shared 50 years together before his passing in April of 2017. Mary was a member of the Evangelical United Church of Christ, the Women's Guild, and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was employed at General Electric for over many years and volunteered many hours at the union hall in Tell City. Mary enjoyed euchre, Wheel of Fortune, doing laundry for herself and others, shopping, and being with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling with Gordie. They visited all 50 states, the Canadian Provinces, and many lighthouses during their travels.
 

She is survived by her daughter, Gloria (Dan) Whitlock; son Robert (Laura) Herzog; siblings, Margi Lippert of Washington and Paul (Harlan) Lippert of Maryland; stepbrother, Jack Brown; 13 grandchildren, Kassandra (Kody) Cain, Carley (Robert) Perryman, Spencer (Jessa) Herzog, Hunter (Samantha) Herzog, Brian (Beth) Whitlock, Daren (Christina) Whitlock, Amanda Brenton Brindle (Richard), Alyson Brenton, Anna Brenton, Aaron (Tatiana) Aders, Zachary (Danielli) Aders, Brooke Aders, Vanessa Aders, Madi Herzog, and Katie Herzog; 8 great-grandchildren, Amy and Emily Whitlock, Maya and Layla Brindle, Ashton, Kable Cain, Colton and Dakota Perryman, Ariella Dawn, Zanna Herzog, Zane Herzog, and Zairah Herzog; surrogate grandchildren Ethan (Jaci) Herzog, Clayton Mogan (Kailynn Hawhee), Allie and Maddie Holmes, Ian and Carly Jarboe; surrogate great-grandchildren, Grayson, Brynleigh and Lainey Herzog, Hudson Mogan; 4 Nieces and 11 Nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband Gordie Aders, her father Rev. Henry Lippert, her mother Ada (Weil) Lippert, her stepmother Mary Jane Lippert, her stepsister Judy Pohl and her children LeRoy Aders, Dawn Zogleman, and Kathy Brenton.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to Rivers Edge Animal Shelter, Evangelical United Church of Christ or a favorite charity.
