Mary Jean (Henning) DuPre, 98, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on August 22, 2022
Jean was born on June 24, 1924, in Owensboro, KY, the daughter of the late Thomas and Martha Sue (Blandford) Henning. She married Ernest DuPre on January 31, 1948, who precedes her in death.
She was a member of Tri Kappa, St. Mark's Church, Hoosier Heights Country Club, Darnekeg, and numerous card and sewing clubs.
Jean's most cherished memories included traveling with Ernie, after his retirement from GE, to everywhere from Hawaii to England to her yearly family vacations in Myrtle Beach. Jean especially loved spending time with her children, ten grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. She never hesitated to let everyone know how proud she was of all of her family.
Survivors include her six children, Steve (Anita) DuPre of Sullivan, Jennifer DuPre (Mark Evrard) of Carmel, Gail (Chris) Kaufmann of Newburgh, Tom (Patti) DuPre of Tell City, Martha DuPre of Tell City and Patricia (Al) Wicke of Louisville; ten grandchildren, Ashley Ridnour, Matthew DuPre, Jason Kaufmann, Kevin Kaufmann, Andrew DuPre, Michael DuPre, Sam Wicke, Katie Wicke, Abby Wicke, and Emma Wicke; and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Jean was preceded in death by her siblings, Tom Henning, Margaret Munday, and James Henning; and her daughter-in-law Susan Richard DuPre.
Services will be at St. Marks Catholic Church on Thursday August 25, 2022, at 10:00 am CST with burial in St. Marks Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Wednesday August 24, 2022, and from 8:30 to 9:15am on Thursday at the funeral home.
