With heavy hearts, we share the passing of our cherished Mom, Mary Loy (Fella) Feldpausch, who left us peacefully surrounded by what she loved most - her family, on January 1, 2025. Born on May 20th, 1947, Mary passed at the age of 77, and leaves a legacy of life lessons and loving relationships from the impactful roles she played in the lives of so many.
She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Mabel and Leo. As a devoted daughter, she not only enriched and extended the lives of her parents, but held all of us together as a family continuing to host gathering after gathering over the decades of her life.
Mary spent her life in Perry County, growing up in Troy and then built a life in Tell City. In her early adult life, Mary was a beautician which was evident in her always stylish hair and hip fashion sense. Mary is survived by her loving husband, Ronnie, whom she married on September 2, 1972. They shared 52 years together and raised two incredible sons, Kevin (Theresa) and Keith (Cassie), who will carry on the loving traditions of their mom. Nothing made Mary more proud than her role as Mom. Their love for each other was obvious and a constant source of support and fun.
No role made her heart more full than her role as Mimi to her grandkids Annie, Aden, Ace, Amelia, Daylin, and Tristan, and great grandson, Maverick. Mimi was always there for school pickups and drop-offs, ball fields and basketball courts, birthdays and pool days. Mimi always had her watchful eye on her grandkids. She loved the sound of kids playing and her house and arms were always open for anything her grand babies wanted or needed. No one will miss Mimi more than her grandkids.
Mary also leaves behind 7 brothers and a sister and a loving bunch of in-laws she comically referred to as “the outlaws.” Phil (Janean), Phyllis (d. Charlie), Jerry (Pat), Mike (d. Julie), Bob (Mary), Greg (Carmin), Roger (Brenda), and Mark (Becky). As an Aunt, her 19 nieces and nephews were loved as if they were her own. From Baptisms to birthdays, weddings to graduations, no family event was complete without her famous potato salad, fun loving presence, and warm wit. And as a friend, she could always be counted on for her humor, loyalty, and up to date reporting on local happenings thanks to her ever-squawking scanner.
No matter the role she played in our lives, her loss will be felt deeply. We will all miss her quick wit and easy laughter, her unconditional love, and her constant presence . . . Mary always showed up for those she loved. Always. And while our family will never be the same without her, we are so grateful for the roles she played in our lives and the model she was of how to be a mom, Mimi, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. While we struggle to fill her void, we will honor her legacy by carrying on like she asked and will take care of each other like she taught us. She will be dearly missed forever.
A celebration of her life will be held, starting with a visitation, on Friday, January 3, 2025, from 2 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday morning from 8 to 9:15 a.m. at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home in Tell City. Please come visit with the family and share your memories of Mary.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Pius Church at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 4, 2025, in Troy, with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Fr. Steve Donahue will officiate.
