Mary Lou Poehlein, 91, passed away on November 20, 2023, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Born June 6, 1932, in Tell City, she was the daughter of the late Wilbur and Lucille (Kleeman) Parker.
She graduated from Tell City High School in 1950. Mary Lou was united in marriage to Norman Poehlein on October 23, 1954. She retired from General Electric in Tell City after 36 years of service. Her greatest joy in life was being a wife and mother. From spending time with Norman at the boat to quality time spent with her family, she was always happy.
Survivors include her husband, Norman Poehlein; son, Von Poehlein; brother, John (Regina) Parker; two grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mary Lou was preceded in death by her sons, Van and Vic Poehlein; and siblings, Wib Parker Jr., Gary Parker, Bill Parker, Bobby Parker, Norma Hunt, and Ronald Parker.
Services were private with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held on Mary Lou's birthday on June 6, 2024, at the river front in Troy.
