Mildred Werne

Mildred Magdalena Werne, 97, of Tell City and formerly of St. Meinrad, passed away at Scenic Hills at the Monastery on April 2, 2025.
 

She was born September 9, 1927, in Tell City, Indiana, to Adolph C. and Martha B. (Nuetzel) Lambeck.
 

Mildred married Linus Michael Werne on January 20, 1947, at St. Meinrad Catholic Church.
 

She worked on tubes at General Electric in Tell City. Mildred was a member of St. Meinrad Catholic Church. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, fishing, and spending time with friends and family.
 

Mildred is survived by her son, Donald Werne; two daughters, Betty Schnuck-Kerkhoff and her husband, John, and Nancy Fowler and her husband, Jim; daughter-in-law, Janice Werne-Hudson; grandchildren, Bobby Myler, Shawn Werne, Greg Schnuck, Michael Schnuck, Kristina Epplin, Brian Schnuck, Tracy Hagedorn, Jodi Hufnagel, Jamie Gasser, Jason Keifer, and Kyle Keifer; along with several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
 

In addition to her parents, Mildred was preceded in death by her husband Linus; son Ronald Werne; daughter-in-law, Elaine Werne; son-in-law, Larry Schnuck; and her sister, Dorothy Griepenstroh.
 

Services will be private. Burial will take place in St. Meinrad Church Cemetery.
