Norman “Bud” Schroeder, 91, formerly of Tell City, passed away on March 21, 2026, at his home in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Bud was born in Cannelton, Indiana, on March 20, 1935, to the late Herman L. and Sarah Ivy (Pippin) Schroeder. He was a proud 1953 graduate of Cannelton High School. Bud proudly served as a police officer with the Washington, D.C. Police Department. Among the many honors of his career, he took great pride in serving as a motorcycle escort for President John F. Kennedy during his final procession. He was a dedicated and respected officer who carried himself with professionalism and integrity throughout his career.
Outside of his work, Bud enjoyed hunting and golfing, and he cherished the camaraderie and lifelong bonds he shared growing up with his brothers.
He is survived by his son, Christian Schroeder and his brother, James “Jim” (Christy) Schroeder of Kokomo, Indiana.
In addition to his parents, Bud was preceded in death by his brothers, Edgar Conner, Samuel Conner, Herman Schroeder, and William “Guy” Schroeder.
