Ora Nell Tharp

Ora Nell Tharp, 95, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at Oakwood Health Campus.

She was born on August 27, 1929, in Owensboro, KY, to the late Eugene and Nellie (Clark) Meadows.

Ora was united in marriage to Chris Tharp, and they shared 41 years together before his passing in 2010. She had worked at General Electric and was of the Baptist faith. Ora enjoyed reading, crocheting, and going camping.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna (Larry) Malone of Tell City; son, Dennis (Cathy) Boyd of Owensboro, KY; five stepchildren; three grandchildren, Monica Fischer, Amber Ollis, and Matthew (Emileigh) Boyd; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Ora was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca Jordan; four sisters, Hattie Belle Wing, Margaret Mae Roberts, Anna Louise Breitinger, and Emma Jean Jacondino; and a brother, Junius Meadows.

Funeral services are at 12:00pm on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home in Tell City. Burial will follow in Shiloh Cemetery in Rockport, IN. Visitation will be from 10:00am until service time.

Memorial contributions may be made to Heart-to-Heart Hospice, Oakwood Health Campus, or Perry County Council on Aging.
