Patrick C. Young

Patrick C. Young, 46, passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at the University of Louisville Hospital.

Born in Owensboro, KY, on May 15, 1978, the son of Charles “Butch” and Gwen (Johnson) Young. Pat graduated from Tell City High School in 1997 and was well known for his talents on the wrestling mat and the football field. He was married to Christa Crawford on May 26, 2005. Pat was currently working at Waupaca Foundry, where he had been for over 21 years.

Pat was an outdoorsman, who's ability not only included hunting deer, he and Christa spent countless hours mushroom hunting together. He also enjoyed fishing, riding his side-by-side, and doing yard work; and had one of the best-looking yards around. Pat loved his whole family deeply, along with his dogs, Hank and Bella.

Survivors include his wife, Christa Young of Tell City; 3 children, Savannah Young, Jude Young, and Jack Crawford, all of Tell City; mom, Gwen Young of Tell City; sister, Laura (Steve) Durcholz of Owensboro; and niece and nephew Carley and Colton.

Pat was preceded in death by his dad, Charles “Butch” Young.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Friday, May 2, 2025, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home, with Adam Evrard officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3:00 to 8:00pm on Thursday and 9:00am to service time on Friday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
