Ray Finley Brown, Sr., 79, of Tell City, passed away Sunday August 11, 2024, at Brickyard Healthcare in Tell City, IN.
He was born in Madisonville, KY, on August 21, 1944, to the late Clarence “CW” Brown and Mary (Wallace) McGinnis. He was united in marriage to Rose Elverd on August 21, 1964, and they shared 48 years together before her passing in 2012. Ray went on to serve our country by joining the United States Army. He worked as a truck driver for Diamond J Trucking.
A veteran and truck driver, Ray enjoyed his beloved dog Bailey, driving around in his truck, and being with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are his children, Ray Brown, Jr. of Tell City, Tammy Wagner (Gregg) of Tell City, Kelly Brown of Leopold, Scott Brown (Kristal) of Evansville; brothers, Jerry Gibson, Marvin Gibson, and Donald Brown; sister, Cecelia Gibson; ten grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rose Brown; his son, Terry Brown; brother, Eddy Brown; and sister Linda Hartmann.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at Noon at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home, with Brother David Hayes officiating.
Visitation will also be Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until noon at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Bristow City Cemetery.
