Ray Hagerdon Obituary

Ray B. Hagerdon went to his eternal glory on Thursday October 23, 2014 at the Deaconess VNA Plus Charlier Hospice Center in Evansville, IN. He was born October 19, 1925 , son of late Jacob & Conna (Hicks) Hagerdon.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Louise (Mitchell) Hagerdon, a daughter, Lois McCallister, grandson, Nathan Vojtaskovic, a brother, Roy Hagerdon and a sister Ruth Rogier.

Ray worked for William Tell Woodcrafters, then retired from working 15 years as a custodian at Newman-May Elementary School. Ray was a WWII Veteran, member of Tell City VFW Post 2939 and American Legion Post #213, St. Paul’s Catholic Church and the Senior Center. He enjoyed playing euchre, dancing, hunting, fishing and gardening.

Ray is survived by his daughters; Jan(Pat) Flamion of Newburgh, Judy (Burke) Schneider of Indianapolis, Karen (Rodney) Doogs of Cannelton, Linda (Pat) Vojtaskovic of Denver CO, Donna (Greg) Seamon of Chandler; Grandchildren; Greg (Olga) Flamion, Chad Flamion, Ryan (Sarah) Flamion, Lisa (Chris) Kessens, Les McCallister, Carissa(Cory) McNulty, Ian Schneider, Bryce Schneider, Aaron(Megan) Doogs, David Doogs, Rachelle (Joey) Edwards, Alicia Doogs, Kelly (EJ) Montgomery, Brittany and Brandon Vojtaskovic, Cassandra(Derek)Guisewite, Jessica (Sean) Gesselman and 29 great- grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:00 AM CST on Monday, October 27, 2014 at St. Paul Catholic Church followed by burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00-7:00 PM and Mon 8:30-9:30AM at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home.

Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church, Deaconess VNA-Plus and their Charlier Hospice Center.
