Rick Fortwendel, 65, passed away September 10, 2021 at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Tell City, Indiana.
He was born in Tell City on May 20, 1956 to the late Joseph and Melba (Cravens) Fortwendel. He married Barb Fisher on August 4, 1989.
Rick was a U.S. Navy veteran and worked at Tell City Chair Company for 17 years and owned and operated the New Boston Tavern for 26 years.
He enjoyed golf, boating, his grandchildren and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.
Surviving are his wife Barb; children, Jarrod (Andrea) of Memphis, TN, Kristi (Josh) Scott of Tell City, IN, Carin (Scotty) Kelly of Owensboro, KY, Brian (Crystal) Vinson of Tell City, IN ; siblings, Jody (Linda) Fortwendel of Troy, Angela (Ed) Jackson of Owensboro, KY, Rita (Gary)Smith of Tell City, John (Tara) Fortwendel of Troy, Sam (Ann) Fortwendel of Troy; 17 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death in addition to his parents are a daughter Beth Ann, a son Todd Vinson and a brother, Mark.
Funeral Services will be held at 7:00 pm Monday September 13, 2021 at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home with Fr. Anthony Vinson officiating.
Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to service time Monday at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home.
