Rita Harmon Obituary

Rita M. Harmon, 72, passed away on Thursday July 14, 2022, at her home in Tell City.

She was born in Tell City, Indiana on October 3, 1949. Rita was a 1967 graduate of Cannelton High School.

She was united in marriage on August 31, 2016, to Michael Harmon. Rita worked at several of the major Tell City employers through the years including, Tell City Chair, Can-Clay, and Commercial Filters. Rita was active in the Tell City Chapter of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and enjoyed singing and playing piano, cards and board games, fishing, horseback riding, sewing and crochet, arts, crafts, and antiques, and spending time with family and friends.

Surviving is her husband, Michael Harmon, Tell City, mother, Madeline (Merle) Harpenau, Tell City, son, Thomas Lawalin, Indianapolis, grandchildren, Kylie and Caleb, Indianapolis and a nephew, Darren (Laurie) VanConia of Evanston.

Preceding her in death were her father, Andrew J. VanConia, and her brother Ronald “Ronnie” L. VanConia.

Visitation will be Friday July 22nd at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home from 2:00pm to 6:00pm along with a funeral service at 6:00pm.

Memorial contribution may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
