Ronald Hess

Ronald David Hess, 82, passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at the IU Hospice House in Bloomington, IN.

He was born June 24, 1942, to the late John P. Hess and Ruth H. (Pyle) Farley.

Ron attended Troy High School. On November 12, 1960, he was united in marriage to Susan Victoria Kyle. Ron was a member of the National Guard, the American legion, the VFW and a 2-time past Governor of the Moose Lodge 1081 in Bloomington, IN. He enjoyed camping, boating, hunting, and gardening.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Hess; his children, David Hess (Cheryl) of Bedford, IN, Ruthie Page (Philip) of Sellers, SC, and Rhonda Backus (Kent) of Salem, IN; brother, Mike Hess (Mary) of Leopold, IN, Steve Hess of Tell City, and Dennis Hess of Tell City; along with 8 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his brother Hubert Hess.

Graveside Service will be held at 9:00am on Saturday, February 22, 2025, in St. Mary's Cemetery.
