Ronald A. Parker, 79, passed away on Monday, October 9, 2023, at St. Vincent Ascensions in Evansville, IN. He was born on December 14, 1943, in Tell City, IN, to Wilbur and Lucille (Kleeman) Parker.
He was a 1962 graduate of Tell City High School. He was united in marriage to Marcia Herrell on July 21, 1984, and they shared 39 years together.
Ronald was a painter and also hung wallpaper throughout his life. He continued this profession as a side job while working for General Electric and D&S Trucking as truck driver. Ronald was a member of the United States National Guard for 13 years. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 213 and the 40&8 Voiture. He enjoyed IU basketball and spending time with his grand kids.
Surviving is his wife, Marcia “Toodie” Parker, of Tell City; his son, Eric Parker of Mitchell, IN; Dana Collins (David) of Evansville, and Darren Ice (Carlyn) of Marietta GA; siblings, Mary Lou (Norman) Poehlein of Evanston and John Parker (Regina) of Tell City; three grandchildren, Ethan, Emily, and Isaac; and one great-grandchild, Ezra.
In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by his brothers, Wib Jr, Gary, Bill, Bobby Parker, and a sister, Norma Hunt.
Funeral Services will be held at 10am on Thursday, October 12, 2023, at St. Paul Catholic Church with Fr. Tony Hollowell officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4pm to 7pm on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, and from 8:30am to 9:30am on Thursday, October 12, 2023, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home in Tell City, IN.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
