Rose Ziegelgruber Obituary

Rose Marie Ziegelgruber, 94, passed away Monday, September 6, 2021 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, IN.

 

She was born in Tell City, Indiana on April 20, 1927 the daughter of the late Anthony and Veronica (Bockhold) Rhodes. She married Paul Ziegelgruber on May 1, 1947 who preceded her in death on September 23, 1999. She had worked in the office of the Perry County Treasurer for 8 years, G. T. Davis Insurance Agency and at the TG &Y Store for 13 years.

 

Rose was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, The American Legion Post 213 Auxiliary, Perry County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and the Daughters of Isabella.

 

Rose was a good and faithful servant who was active in numerous charity organizations. She enjoyed family vacations and gatherings.

 

She is survived by her children, Debra (Larry) Phillips of Orem, UT, Polly (Dave) Ellison of Evansville, IN, Dori (Joe) Meyer of Bloomington, IN, Mark (Karen) Ziegelgruber of Anderson, IN, a sister, Jane (Maurice) Mayfield of Greenfield, IN, grandchildren, Kelly Fiddler, Christopher Blinzinger, Jon Blinzinger, Aaron Blinzinger, Russell Phillips, Pollyanna Fiddler, Molly Fairbanks, Lindsey Ziegelgruber, Cara Hurak, Kate Magee, Jay Ziegelgruber, Paul Meyer, Kevin Ellison, Davi Raber, Jami Witty, Heather Witty, Christopher Meyer, Angela Guzman, Lisa Schroeder, 47 great grandchildren and 10 great great-grandchildren.

 

In addition to her husband Paul and her parents she is preceded in death by sons, Pat and Jay Ziegelgruber and brothers, Paul, Vince and Patrick Rhodes.

 

Services will be 10:00am Friday September 10, 2021 at St. Paul Catholic Church with burial in Greenwood Cemetery.

 

Visitation will be from 3:00pm to 7:00pm Thursday and from 8:30am to 9:30am Friday at the funeral home.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to Council of Agencies or Catholic Charities.
