Russell Harrison

Russell Harrison, 75, of Tell City, Indiana, passed away on June 5, 2026, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, Indiana.

Born on November 4, 1950, Russell was the son of the late Saint Elmore and Anna Mae (Huff) Harrison. On August 19, 1968, he married the love of his life, Laquita Spinks, beginning a devoted marriage that spanned nearly 58 years.

Above all else, Russell was a devoted family man who loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren beyond measure. He treasured every moment spent with his family and found his greatest happiness in being surrounded by those he loved. Whether sharing stories, celebrating milestones, or simply enjoying time together, Russell's family was always at the center of his life.

Russell was also a hardworking and dedicated man who spent many years working at the Tell City Chair Factory until its closure. He later continued his career with Lutgring Brothers, retiring in 2011. While he took pride in his work, farming was his true passion. He loved caring for his farm and tending to his animals, especially his guineas and cattle. Russell found great satisfaction in working the land, spending time on his tractors, and embracing the rural way of life he cherished. His strong work ethic, loving heart, and unwavering devotion to his family will be remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Russell is survived by his beloved wife, Laquita Harrison of Tell City; his children, Bonnie Clausen, Carl Harrison, Matthew (Beth) Harrison and Rebecca Davis, all of Tell City, and Jonathan (Bonnie) Harrison of Cannelton; his siblings, Jesse (Diane) Harrison of Leopold, Nancy (Glenn) Brown of Evansville, Ronnie (Peggy) Harrison of Cloverport, and Martha Blair of Cannelton; 14 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Russell was preceded in death by his brothers, Mikey Harrison, Timothy Harrison, Saint Elmore Harrison Jr., and Roger Harrison.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Chestnut Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
