Ruth Anne Malone, 91, passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2025, at Perry County Memorial Hospital.
She was born on January 20, 1934, to the late William and Anna Rust in Troy, IN.
Ruth Anne graduated from Troy High School in 1952. She was the Valedictorian and Vice President of her class and Fall Festival Queen during her senior year. Ruth Anne also won the Home Economic Award her freshman year, Good Citizen Award in her sophomore year and Shorthand and Typing Awards in her junior year, as well as winning the D.A.R. contest.
Ruth Anne received her nursing degree from Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN, on September 1, 1955. After 40 years of dedicated service Ruth retired from Perry County Memorial Hospital as a Registered Nurse in 1995.
She was united in marriage to Thomas Malone on September 3, 1955. They were married for 50 years before his passing in 2006.
Ruth Anne was a member of Lincoln Trail Quilt Guild. She enjoyed many hobbies including: quilting, sewing, crocheting, knitting, cross stitch, stamping, antiquing, collecting, traveling, baking, reading and most importantly spending time with her family. Ruth loved her children and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her children Brian (Tracy) Malone, Tell City, IN, Kristine (Tom) Benson, Houston, TX, Kathy (Rocky) Martin, Hatfield, IN, Kimberly (Don) Griffith, Cincinnati, OH and daughter-in-law Nancy (Rick) Bond, St. Louis, MO. Her grandchildren, Caitlin (Marius) Johnson-Malone, St. Louis, MO, Brandon (Ashley) Malone, Dayton, OH, Amanda (W. Mark) Thompson, Chicago, IL, Nick (Khrista) Martin, Henderson, KY, Travis Benson, Houston, TX, Chelsea (Brian) Johnson, Shelbyville, IN, Lauren Martin, Indianapolis, IN, Claire (Mando) Quintero, Houston, TX, Bailey (Carl) Malone, Bowling Green, KY, Emily (Jonas) Benson, Starnberg, Germany, and Abigail Martin, Indianapolis, IN. Great grandchildren, Corey, Anniyah, Brooklynn, Leonard, Tatum, Maya, Eloise, Lainey, Gabrielle and Elle, sisters-in-law, Rosella Rust, Evansville, IN, and Sharon Rust, Tell City, IN, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Ruth Anne was preceded in death by her husband, Tom and a son, Bruce Malone.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Monday, December 1, 2025, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Sunday, November 30, 2025, from 2:00 - 5:00pm and on Monday from 9:00am until service time at the funeral home.
