Shirley Mae (Harris) Cravens, 88, passed away August 25, 2023, at Northwood Retirement Community.
She was born November 7, 1934, in Spencer Co. to Clayton Harris and Edna (Sutton) Harris.
Shirley was the Business Office Manager at Perry County Memorial Hospital and retired after 28 years of service. She was a member of the American Legion Post 213 Women's Auxiliary.
She was particularly fond of going on bus tours, meeting new people, and was an avid genealogist tracing our family's history back to the 1400s.
Shirley is survived by one daughter Pamela Dowland (Larry), Tell City, IN and three sons Christopher (Annette), Belleville, IL, Douglas (Allyson), Troy and Charles "Chuck" caregiver, Tell City, brothers Ronnie (Fern), Texas, Mike, Montana, Jeff and Charles of Indianapolis; sister-in-law Priscilla Asche; grandchildren Steve (Alli), John, Michael (Sheena) and Trenton Dowland, Amanda Josefowicz, C.J. (Lauren), Jake, Kyle (Elaina); great grandchildren Brianna, Alisa, Hunter, Brynleigh, Liam, Luka, Dorothy and Colson; great great grandchild, Weston.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Earl “Lefty” Cravens, her infant son Stuart, sister Sue, brother Randy and her second mother Cherry Harris.
Funeral services will be held at 10am on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home with Fr. Kolbe Wolniakowski officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Troy, IN.
Visitation will be from 3pm to 7pm on Monday, August 28, 2023, and from 9am until service time on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at the Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home.
