Thomas W. Tignor

Thomas W. “Tom” Tignor, 77, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on July 15, 1949, Tom lived a life defined by kindness, generosity, quiet strength, and unwavering love for those closest to him.

Tom was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Marcella P. Busby, and his father, John Tignor. One of the greatest expressions of Tom's love was returning home to care for his mother during her later years. Their bond was one of deep devotion, and it brings comfort to know they are now reunited once again.

He is lovingly survived by his sisters, Juanita Holmes (Jim) and Tina Ziegelgruber (David); his brother, John Tignor (Lucy) of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, who loved his brother dearly despite the distance between them; his nephews, Matthew Board, Daniel Board, John Richard Tignor and Zachary Ziegelgruber; his niece, Rachel Malone; and his beloved dog, King, whose faithful companionship brought Tom great joy.

Tom cherished his family and treasured every opportunity to spend time with them. He was a loyal friend who enjoyed life's simple pleasures and had a remarkable gift for making people feel welcome. He found great happiness in quilting, creating beautiful handmade pieces that reflected his patience, creativity, and attention to detail. Tom also genuinely enjoyed visiting with others and never met a stranger. Whether catching up with friends or helping customers, he greeted everyone with warmth, kindness, and an easy smile that instantly put people at ease.

Those who knew Tom will remember his gentle heart, his willingness to lend a helping hand, and the quiet yet meaningful ways he showed his love through his actions. His legacy lives on in the countless memories he created and the lives he touched with his compassion and generosity.

In accordance with Tom's wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. He preferred to be remembered as he lived—surrounded by those he loved and through the cherished memories shared by family and friends.

Memorial contributions may be made to the United Way of Perry County, a cause that reflected Tom's caring spirit and lifelong desire to help others.

Though our hearts are heavy with his passing, we find peace in knowing Tom is once again reunited with his beloved mother. His love, kindness, and gentle spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
