Earnestine W. “Toddy” Ransom, 74, passed away Saturday, September 14, 2024, at her home in Tell City.
She was born February 11, 1950, in Mansfield, LA, to Ernest and Avynelle Eaugene Michelle (Keene) Weaver.
Toddy had previously worked for Peacock Jewelers, in Shreveport, LA for 10 years, Stewart Warner in Troy, IN, for 9 years and went on to become the co-owner of Zeke Ransom Excavation from where she retired. She enjoyed time spent with her family and friends, her cat Josie, and her horse Hawkeye.
She is survived by her companion and best friend, Eugene Alvey; daughter, Michelle Dickerson (Joe Wright) of Hartford, KY; stepdaughters, Leslie Holcomb (Bayne) of Cannelton, and Lori Fredrickson (Kevin) of Idaho; grandchildren, CJ Ransom (Katie), Dakota J. Huff (Sally), Whittney M. Huff (Kaleb Chambers), Zachary Ziegelgruber (Ravyn), Morgan Bube (Mason); she also wanted to include loving nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, and wonderful friends.
In addition to her parents, Toddy was preceded in death by her sisters, June M. Keith, Nancy Weaver Clark, and Linda Weaver Holmes.
Funeral services will be held at 10 am Thursday, September 19, 2024, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home with Chaplain Clara Debose officiating. Burial will follow in Lilly Dale Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2-7 pm on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, and from 9 until service time on Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
