Verona “Mae” Bolin, 90, of Tell City, passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2024, at Oakwood Health Campus.
She was born in Perry County, IN, on April 5, 1934, to the late John Riley and Naomi (Butler) Kellems. Mae attended Millstone High School. She was united in marriage on December 26, 1950, to Leonard Bolin, and they shared 61 years together before his passing in 2011.
Mae worked at Swiss Plywood for many years before retiring in 1999. She was a member of Berean Baptist Church and enjoyed reading her Bible, watching her bird feeders, and push mowing grass. She was an immaculate housekeeper and a great organizer, having a system for everything. She loved her family deeply and will be greatly missed.
Mae is survived by her daughters, Kathy Hinton (Roy), Hawesville, KY, and Karen Kellems, Tell City; son, Stephen Bolin (Mary), Cannelton; brother, Hilbert Kellems of Cannelton; 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Bolin; a daughter Dorothy Duke; sisters, Rosemary Osborne and Emma Marie Smith; and a grandson, Everett Smith.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 PM on Monday, December 2, 2024, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home, Pastor Harry McDonald will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until service time on Monday.
