Wilma J. Splater

Wilma J. Splater, 91, passed away on February 17, 2025, at Oakwood Health Campus.

She was born on April 8, 1933, daughter of the late James and Lula (Simpson) Jarboe. She was united in marriage to Earl D. Splater in 1948, and they shared 63 years together before his passing in 2011.

Wilma took care of her home and was a foster parent. She opened her heart and her home to many children over the years. Wilma had a deep love animals and children. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and loved to babysit. Wilma was a faithful believer and had a wonderful relationship with God.

Survivors include her children, Misty Rager of Cannelton, and Angelique Riley of South Carolina; her grandchildren, Alexandra Neff, Angelina Via, Angelo Via, and Annalyce Via; along with several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Wilma was preceded in death by her husband Earl; son, Christopher; siblings, Alberta Amos, Lucille (Evelyn) Simpson, Freida Brown and a sister in infancy, Sarah Jane.

Graveside Services will be held at 11am on the Tuesday, February 25, 2025, in Lilly Dale Cemetery, Gatchel, IN, with Jim Davis officiating.
