Wm. Earl LeClere, 101, passed away on Friday, August 04, 2023.
He was born on March 5, 1922, in Perry County, IN, the son of Frank and Clara (Dauby) Leclere. Earl was a 1940 graduate of Tell City High School. He was united in marriage November 9, 1948, at St. Paul Catholic Church to Gloria Marie Etienne. They shared 72 wonderful years together before her death in August of 2021.
An electrical instrument mechanic, he was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church, and the Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree. Earl enjoyed playing cards, gardening and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his children, Dr. Joe LeClere (Leanne) of Tell City, Bob Leclere (Debbie) of Syracuse, NY, Jane Leclere-Doyle (Dr. Jeff) of Ithaca, NY, Patty Mills (Michael) of Lakeland, FL, and David Leclere (Ann) of West Lafayette.
Grandchildren, Lauren Schacht (Dr. Michael), Steven LeClere (Jenna), Kristen Portelos (Evan), Brett LeClere, A.J. Leclere (Heather Apolito), Brittany Watford (Brandon), Lindsay Penley (Danny), Sarah Leclere and Sam Leclere.
Great-grandchildren, Ezra, Ruby, Silas, Ellis, Brooks, Beau, Clara, Perry, Calin, Carter, Lucas, Zachary, Logan, Bentley, Michael, and Delilah.
Earl is preceded in death by his siblings, Clarence Leclere, Jo Graves, Art Leclere, Myrtle Guillaume and Mary Rogier.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 12, 2023, at St. Mark Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery. Fathers Kolbe Wolniakowski, Bernie Etienne, and Zach Etienne will be concelebrating.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorial contributions be made to St. Mark Church.
