Ernest “Ernie” Coultas, age 89, went to be with the Lord Friday, September 27, 2013 at Oakwood Health Campus in Tell City. He was born February 17, 1924 to the late Clarence and Ida (Wiggins) Coultas.
Ernie was a Navy veteran. He retired from General Electric, was owner of Ernie’s Shoe Repair and ministered thru bible studies at Branchville Correctional Facility and the Perry County Jail for many years. He was a member of Deer Creek Baptist Church and the Gideons, in which he was a Charter Member. Ernie enjoyed gardening.
He is survived by his children, Judy (Elliott) Lynch of Tell City, Lucy Armistead of Tampa, FL, Leah (Mike) Harr of Dayton, OH, David (Jackie) Coultas of Tell City and Paul Coultas of Tell City; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren
Preceding him in death is his wife, Evelyn (George) Coultas; his parents; and siblings, Bob and Andy Coultas, Evelyn Wynn, Clara Bothe and Margaret Coultas
Funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. CST on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home. Dr. Elmer Shelby will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 1, 2013 from 2:00-8:00 P.M. and Wednesday from 9:00-11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.
