He was born February 3, 1930 to the late Herbert and Bertha (Goffinet) Sabelhaus.
Joe was a veteran of the Army, serving in the Korean Conflict Era. He was united in marriage on August 31, 1969 to Olive Rogier. Joe and Ollie owned and operated the Alpine House, and he also painted for Sabelhaus and Sons. After retiring, Joe enjoyed refrigeration repair work, hunting, fishing, gardening and playing euchre. He was a member of VFW Post 2939,
Moose Lodge 1424, and was a fan of the Green Bay Packers and IU.
Surviving is his wife, Olive Sabelhaus of Tell City; daughter, Kathy Vanhoosier and husband, Dan of Tell City; a brother, Anthony Sabelhaus and wife, Rexene of Bumpass, VA; two grandchildren, Amy and Tracy Stephens.
Preceding him in death are his parents, and sisters, Teresa Graham, Grace Burden, Jeanie Braun and Blanche Rice.
Per Joe’s request, there will be no services. Zoercher- Gillick Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
