Bobbie Jean Denning Morris, 75, formally of Tell City, passed away Sunday, June 10, 2012, at her home in Crocker, MO. She was born in Tobinsport, IN on July 21, 1936 to the late Virgil and Lula Jane (Applegate) Stiles. She was a graduate of Bosse High School in Evansville and continued her education and attained a degree in business. In 1984, Bobbie moved to the Pulaski County area and married George Creighton Morris. They were united in marriage December 28, 1985 in Devils Elbow, MO. They shared over 28 years together.
A hardworking woman, Bobbie dedicated her life to helping many people. She was currently the Executive Director of the Puluski County Group Home in Crocker, MO and had been for 25 years. She loved helping those that were challenged and considered all the residents as her family, giving them a home where they were safe and loved. She was a kind and compassionate person, never knowing a stranger, helping everyone she could. She will be greatly missed by all those that knew and loved her.
Most important in her life, Bobbie cherished her children. She has passed her kind and giving traits on to her daughters who will continue her legacy. Adored by her daughters, they spent every moment they could with her. In her spare time, Bobbie loved going on cruises with her daughters. She enjoyed cooking, reading, spending time with her family and friends and was a history buff. She was an avid supporter of the Special Olympics. Many will remember her for her kind giving heart, touching everyone she met. She also had an incredible sense of humor and always left everyone with a smile on their face. Bobbie was lifetime member of the Ladies VFW Auxiliary since 1989.
Bobbie leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband, George of Crocker, MO; four children, Susan Denning (Terry) of Devils Elbow, MO, Cristi Denning of Evansville, IN, Sheryl Schaefer (Kevin) of St. Meinrad, IN and Lauralee Baldwin (Joe) of Lexington, KY; eleven grandchildren, James Patrick Denning, Michael Steven Denning, Crystal Ruiz, Ricky Denning, Joseph Baldwin, Sean Schaefer, Sierra Sky Baldwin, Blake Schaefer, Timmy Denning, Ricky Call and LuAnn Morris; two great-grandchildren, Christopher and Alexandria Denning; a brother, Bud Gude of Atlanta, GA; several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are her parents; sons, Michael and Rick Denning and five siblings, Margie, Kenny, Vicky, Shirley and Lambert.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. CST on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday from 3-8 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Birdseye Cemetery.
