He was born on May 26, 1922 to the late Owen and Minnie (Foerster) Mosby.
He was married to Mary Helen Philipps on May 16, 1946.
He had worked for Somerset Oil Refinery and retired from Martin Marietta (Aleris). He was a member of St. Pius Church and Pilots Association. Chester enjoyed flying his 1946 Taylorcraft, repairing tractors, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by children Robert Mosby and wife Karen and Terri Brockman and husband Thomas all of Evanston; sisters, Edith Bonifay and Betty White both of Milton, FL; grandchildren, Jarrod Brockman, Kristin Johnson, Cassie Heeke, Dana Lutgring, Katie Strange, and Logan Mosby; great-grandchildren, Ian, Hayden, Brady, and Ella Brockman, Aidan and Sophie Johnson, Becca and Owen Heeke, and Zane and Ava Lutgring.
Preceding him in death, his parents; wife, Mary Helen Mosby; daughters, Sandra Ruth and Sharon Rae; brother, Ralph Moseby; sister, Ruth Kessans.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM CST Saturday, August 24, 2013 at St. Pius Catholic Church with Father Sengole Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at the Calvary Cemetery in Troy. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2:00 to 8:00 P.M. and Saturday from 8:30 to 9:15 A.M. at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home. Memorial Contributions can be made to St. Pius Church or Calvary Cemetery.
