Mildred L. Hagedorn, 90, passed away April 25, 2017 at Oakwood Health Campus in Tell City, Indiana.
She was born September 15, 1926 to Ferdinand and Amanda (Wheatley) Gengelbach. She was a 1944 graduate of Tell City High School and retired from Commercial Filters. Mildred was united in marriage on October 23, 1946 to Casper “Joe” Hagedorn. A member of St. Paul Catholic Church, she enjoyed reading and being with her grandchildren.
Surviving are children, Yvonne Baur of Tell City, Joe Wayne (Becky) Hagedorn of Rockport, Sharon (Wayne) Smith of Easley, SC, Richard Hagedorn of Dewey, AZ, Gerald (Celeste) Hagedorn of Henderson, KY and Catherine (Bernard) Bower of Tell City; sister, Margie Knable of Sebring, FL; brother, Edward Gengelbach of New Boston; grandchildren, Greg and Geoff Baur, Emily Micena, Edward Hagedorn, Theresa Riley, Jodi Hodes, Lily Spencer, Shannon Ross, Amanda Stone, Jacob and Nick Bower, Cara Hurak, Kate Magee and Jay Ziegelgruber; thirteen great-grandchildren and one great, great-grandchild.
Preceding her in death are her parents; siblings, Ernest, Leo and Robert Gengelbach and Mabel Dauby, and a grandson, Tommy Hagedorn.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am Friday, April 28 at St. Paul Catholic Church with burial following in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 pm Thursday, April 27 with a Prayer Service at 7 pm and from 8:30 to 9:30 am Friday at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home.
